Trying to stay positive!!!!
I need to stay on top of the blogging!!!! I want to document my journey on this venture. It is really easy to look around and say yeah right, that will never happen! But I am trying to stay positive about the whole situation. I want this and I want this badly! I still have not posted the pictures of the items that I have made. I believe they are on the Facebook page. *shrugs* Well wish me well! Here comes anything because anything is possible.

Had my roommate try the vanilla lavender sugar scrub I made and he liked it. It removed the dead skin from his nose. He also said that the skin felt soft and tight. We discussed the issues he has with his face and decided to try to make one with tea tree oil and lemongrass.

Discouraged
Today I went to the lavender festival. It was really nice to be outdoors with someone I truly enjoy spending time with. I even got myself a couple of lavender plants of my own to nurture and harvest. I had planned on going there with dreams of someday vending there. As we walked by the vendors, there was one with goats milk soaps. I should have been excited at the prospect of seeing someone else successful and spark even higher flames for my hopes of being the same. Instead it discouraged me. I was upset about the fact that I wanted to make soaps and oils. I wanted to be that person. But I have to keep in mind that I'm not ready and the universe is not ready for this just yet. I will slowly continue my journey and crawl before I walk. Dreams are guidelines for what's to come if I just stay focused and determined.

Slacker
So I have definitely been slacking on getting everything up and running. I'm so busy with the move, my super awesome boyfriend and work. I'll get those pictures up of the stuff I have made and will also put some ideas up of what I plan to do next. I know the deadline is coming up for my boyfriends deployment and I need to get some soap made as well as sunscreen lotion bars and bug repellant. I also need to get on my herbalism classes. I plan to start those at the end of July after I am fully settled following the move. Will keep everyone posted.

sad times
I thought to myself today, "I am going to blog and finally post those pictures of the stuff that I have made" then tragedy struck. It is so sad that in a few moments someone's whole world can change. That whether or not you will see someone seems to just hang in the air like a stale musk. A town near to me was hit today by a tragic tornado. It was on the ground for 45 minutes wreaking havoc as it went. I watched the radar hoping the storm would not come my way and it didn't. It just streaked just south of me to touchdown a monster that demolished building and stole innocent lives. At this point we are at 51 confirmed dead and still 40 children missing. My heart goes out to everyone affected by this tragedy. Let us hope for a better and brighter tomorrow.

Scrub
So, I made a sugar scrub with lavender and chamomile. I thoroughly enjoyed it...It made my face feel fresh and soft. Also, my skin felt tightened....I will post pictures later of the process that I used to create the scrub. I am about to tackle creating a dandelion salve, body and face wash with lavender and coconut oil. I plan to take pictures of the entire process for each one that I create. I am super excited.

Here goes nothing...
I have finally procured some fresh lavender, dandelion root and chamomile at a reasonable price. I also stopped at Akins and picked up some bee's wax and almond oil. I am going to start by making a salve for my wonderful boyfriend, Joey. He tends to have shoulder pain and such from when he injured it while in the Marine Corps and I found an easy recipe for a dandelion salve for muscle aches and pain. The recipe calls for the flower as a whole and I only have the root. I am going to do a bit more research on the plant as a whole and decide if I need to go out flower picking or if I can get started right here and right now with the root. Wish me luck! Will post back with progress pictures.
